Hello lovelies!
This is it; it’s finally time for a got-dang Delulu Letter, and I couldn’t be happier! In true Neecie fashion, I am here (after a bit of delay), and it’s all thanks to my penchant for setting things down and immediately forgetting about it.
I’ve been so ready to write, but of course, I had to wait until I could find the perfect deck for these letters to reference. The Star Spinner Tarot is my favorite deck; it’s absolutely gorgeous. This is also the deck that vanished into thin air right at the moment that I decided to write my first letter to you. My deck has revealed itself to me, and all is well. In truth, the time it was ‘missing’ was time much needed to take care of house and family things, so it worked out. Intros aside, I am really happy to be here, in this moment, with you.
YOU.
Take a deep breath with me - inhale, and
exhale, let it all out;
all of the nervous tension,
worries, fears, everything.
Just exist with me for a little bit, and I’ll draw a card in the meantime, okay?
Tarot Manifestations
The Star Spinner Tarot Deck is a gorgeous deck by Trungles, an amazing Vietnamese-American artist. I’ve said it before, but it’s my *favorite* tarot deck and what I’ll be using for weekly manifestations.
Not only is the artwork magnificent, there are 4 variants of The Lovers. Before a reading, you can choose to include in the deck the variant (or variants) that may call to you.
The Lovers, Reversed
The lovers reversed warns of broken unions. A cycle of mutual desire and beneficence is broken, leaving one or all involved parties feeling incomplete and bereft. The card may also indicate that a partnership has stagnated and begun to fester without proper care and attention. Can Eden be forever?
A warning of broken unions may not necessarily mean a romantic partnership or situationship; maybe you’re going through a rough patch with a friend or family member, maybe you aren’t feeling satisfied in your current role or workplace, maybe you’ve been struggling with who to trust enough to vote for this November or if you even want to vote at all (totally fair).
With how wild this year has been so far, it’s a perfect opportunity to reflect on where we are now and how we’ve gotten here. Are you closer to any goals you might have set for 2024? What I’m manifesting for everyone this week is for clarity and drive.
Clarity to be able to decide what works for us to further our dreams
Drive to give us that extra boost to make things happen
A Reflection
I find this card interesting and a bit ironic, given that this week has been full of cooperation, communication, and co-parenting with my ex-fiance. Our rapport has been getting better, and I want to keep that momentum going. He’s been supportive of the steps I’m taking to get in shape (mentally, emotionally, and physically), get out of my comfort zone, and further into my writing journey. We’ve been working really hard to get along and it’s slowly but surely paying off. It’s so much healthier for our kids to see that we’re a united front and can still be a family unit, even if he and I aren’t together.
We all played Uno Attack last night after dinner; if you haven’t played this version before, I highly recommend it. Instead of the infinite draw that my kids despise, you can press the button; if no cards come out of the Uno Attack mystery stress machine, you can end the turn without having to draw again.
There’s something to be said about the feeling of anxiety that mounts until it’s your turn to draw, never knowing if you’ll be safe this time or if you’ll get caught in a deluge of cards. The same could be said of relationships.
With each turn, we don’t know if we’re safe or if cards will come raining down upon us instead. It’s when the situation almost leaves things to chance that I find that I am at my most focused, which is something I’ll never take for granted. The Lovers Reversed was fitting, both in reflection and in manifesting for this week ahead.
A Poem
Here’s a poem I wrote for you all, based on the game my family and I played last night.
Uno, Attack the thing about uno cards is that no matter what the deck looks like, the foundation; the main cards are all still the same the thing about uno is that you can never be just chill when you play there is never a dull moment unless, somehow you’re playing it wrong reliably unreliable, skip, draw two, draw four, uno reverse the process by which we become soft, tired cards whose edges begin to fray until you are as lively and lovely as your 8-year-old daughter who wiggles her eyebrows to signify she’s about to yell uno reverse the sands in the hourglass to the moment an onslaught of cards spit out at your 5-year-old son raising his arms in victory as his laughter infects us all screeching, and crowing— murder by uno attack.
Points to Ponder & Poem Prompts
Think about the goals you may have set for the year. Have you achieved them already, or are you still on your way?
What is something you’re hoping to get clarity on to further your dream?
Write a poem about The Lovers, reversed. Or, write a poem about lovers, reversed!
Write about the momentum that you want to keep going.
Write about Eden and if it can be forever.
Until next time, my lovely little delulus <3
Please feel free to share in the comments; I’d love to read your poems or learn about your dreams. <3
love this, love you, and LOVE seeing your artistic expression in all forms
I know my pushing for going to Vegas is annoying my husband, but I really hope he sees how much I want to go and how important it is to me. It’s causing a small wall; I have to pretend like I know “it’s not possible,” but I’m also emphasizing how much I want to go. Not because I want to leave them all for a night, but because I want to go see a band with a really good friend I made. ❤️
As always, your poems are amazing and I always look forward to reading them!
